To the Hearts of the Faithful,
Greetings to the members of Greater Findlay Area Emmaus Community. First let me apologize for not sending a newsletter since March. It was one of my personal goals to send one monthly. The reason I haven’t is the Upper Room, which is our governing body decided to take over our data base. I don’t have all of technical answers but this affected our ability to send mass emails. It is the end of July and they still haven’t got things figured out. Chris Borkosky our Web Master Board Member has informed me that she will email this letter and you may or may not receive it. If you receive it please let us know. We are also going to post it on the website. The website is independent from the data base and is working just fine
Now on with the good stuff. I am happy to report the Holy Spirit is still blessing the community. On the June Women’s Walk # 107 we had 20 beautiful ladies as pilgrims. These pilgrims got to experience our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in many new ways. I would encourage the community to continue to pray for these pilgrims as they walk through life on their fourth days.
Susan Mason will be the LD for the Women’s Walk #108, October 10-13th. Scott Iams will be the LD for Men’s Walk # 81, November 7-10th. Now is the time to start praying for who you might ask to be a pilgrim on these walks. The prayer vigil calendar is available on the website, so don’t forget to sign up. You can also sign up at the gatherings.
The community continues to have good attendance at the gatherings. The musicians and fourth day speakers have been very good. But the best thing is the fellowship that happens at a gathering. If you haven’t attended one in a while come out and see what you have been missing. The August gathering will be on Tuesday August 17th at Riverside Park in Findlay. It starts at 6:30pm and we ask that you bring a dish and 2-liter of pop to share. Table service will be provided. We had it there last year in August and it was a very special time. All in attendance could just feel the power of the Holy Spirit and it was AWESOME! We even got to interact and do some witnessing to a group of young people who were there training for an athletic event.
As always “Stay in the Spirit”
Declores,
Duane Hackworth
Chairman of the Board
