The Greater Findlay Emmaus Community is part of a worldwide Christian movement focused on spiritual renewal and strengthening the local church. Emmaus brings together Christians who desire to grow in their faith, deepen their relationship with Christ, and live out their discipleship in everyday life.

The Walk to Emmaus
The Walk to Emmaus is a Christ-centered experience of spiritual renewal designed to strengthen the local church by nurturing Christian disciples and servant leaders. Through worship, teaching, fellowship, and reflection, participants are encouraged to deepen their relationship with Christ and grow in their faith.
The journey begins with prayerful discernment and an invitation from a sponsor - often a friend or fellow church member who has previously completed an Emmaus Walk. After accepting the invitation, an application is submitted and thoughtfully reviewed by Emmaus leadership. When the time is right, the individual - known as a Pilgrim - is invited to attend a three-day weekend experience where God’s grace and love are shared through Christian community.
Following the weekend, participants are encouraged to remain connected through small groups that support one another in their ongoing walk with Christ. These groups foster accountability, spiritual growth, and the development of individual gifts, helping participants live out their faith at home, in their churches, and throughout the Greater Findlay community.
Agape
Love in Action
Agape is the expression of Christ-centered love through encouragement, prayer, and simple acts of kindness during the Emmaus Weekend. Notes, messages, and quiet acts of support remind each pilgrim that they are surrounded by faith and community.
What Is the
Emmaus Walk?
The Walk to Emmaus is a three-day Christian retreat focused on spiritual renewal, discipleship, and servant leadership in Northwest Ohio. Hosted by the Greater Findlay Emmaus Community, this experience helps participants grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ and strengthen their role in the local church.
Emmaus begins with a prayerful invitation from a sponsor and an application process. Those accepted attend a three-day experience centered on New Testament Christianity as a lifestyle grounded in grace, worship, learning, and authentic Christian community.
Share Groups
The Emmaus share groups are a small accountability group of two to six persons who have usually participated in the three day Walk to Emmaus and who want to continue their pursuit of a life lived wholly in the grace of God.
