Welcome to the
Greater Findlay Area
Emmaus Community
The Greater Findlay Emmaus Community is part of a worldwide Christian movement focused on spiritual renewal and strengthening the local church. Emmaus brings together Christians who desire to grow in their faith, deepen their relationship with Christ, and live out their discipleship in everyday life.
Emmaus is designed for active Christians who want to renew their faith and be equipped to serve more fully in the body of Christ.
Through worship, teaching, fellowship, and small-group connection, Emmaus encourages believers to develop as servant leaders in their homes, churches, workplaces, and communities. The three-day Walk to Emmaus is the beginning of that journey, followed by ongoing support through community and accountability groups.
The Walk to Emmaus is how that journey begins.
The Walk to Emmaus
The Walk to Emmaus is a three-day Christ-centered experience designed to encourage spiritual growth through worship, teaching, reflection, and fellowship. The weekend includes talks given by both clergy and lay leaders, small-group discussion, prayer, and Holy Communion.
The experience typically begins Thursday evening and concludes Sunday evening. Men and women attend separate weekends in order to create a focused and supportive environment.
Throughout the weekend, the Emmaus community surrounds participants in prayer and encouragement, creating a space where God’s grace and love are shared through Christian fellowship.
Life After the Weekend
Emmaus is not simply a retreat - it is an ongoing journey.
After completing the three-day experience, participants are encouraged to remain connected through small accountability groups. These groups meet regularly to support one another in spiritual practices, prayer, and faithful living.
Through these continued relationships, participants grow in discipleship, discover their spiritual gifts, and find practical ways to live out their calling in everyday life. Emmaus strengthens individuals so they can strengthen their local churches and communities.
A Community of Service
Emmaus thrives because of a community committed to serving one another in love.
Volunteers prepare meals, support weekends behind the scenes, pray throughout the experience, write letters of encouragement, and serve on teams. These acts of Agape — Christ-centered love in action — are woven throughout the Emmaus experience.
Whether serving on a team, sponsoring a pilgrim, or offering prayer support, members of the Emmaus community grow as servant leaders by giving of themselves for others.
