Become a Sponsor of a Pilgrim
Responsibilities of the Sponsor
Sponsors play a vital role in supporting pilgrims before, during, and after their Emmaus Walk.
Sponsorship is an important part of the Emmaus experience. A sponsor prayerfully invites and supports someone as they prepare for and participate in the Walk. Sponsorship is not simply extending an invitation - it is a commitment to walk alongside someone in encouragement, prayer, and continued spiritual growth.

Who Should Be a Sponsor?
A sponsor should be someone who has previously completed a Walk to Emmaus and remains active in their faith and local church.
Sponsors are encouraged to:
Pray for the individual before, during, and after the Walk
Explain the purpose and expectations of the weekend
Support the pilgrim with practical preparation
Encourage participation in follow-up small groups
Continue offering spiritual encouragement beyond the weekend
Sponsorship is an act of servant leadership and Christ-centered love, helping another person step into a time of renewal and growth.
Why Sponsorship Matters
The Walk to Emmaus is most meaningful when someone is personally invited and supported. A thoughtful sponsor helps prepare the pilgrim’s heart and ensures that the experience is not just a weekend event, but the beginning of ongoing spiritual growth.
Sponsorship strengthens both the pilgrim and the sponsor, as both grow in discipleship and service.
