Becoming a Pilgrim
In the Emmaus community, a Pilgrim is someone attending a Walk to Emmaus weekend. The term reflects the spiritual journey each participant takes during this three-day experience of renewal and growth in faith.
The Walk includes worship, meaningful talks, small-group discussion, prayer, and Christian fellowship. It is designed for active Christians who desire to deepen their relationship with Christ and strengthen their commitment to discipleship.
Emmaus builds on an existing foundation of faith and encourages participants to return home renewed, equipped, and ready to live out their calling in everyday life.
What Does a Pilgrim Experience?
During the three-day Walk, pilgrims:
Hear talks from lay and clergy leaders
Participate in small-group discussions
Share in worship and Holy Communion
Spend time in reflection and prayer
Experience Christian fellowship and encouragement
The weekend provides a structured and supportive environment where participants can step away from daily responsibilities and focus on spiritual renewal.
Who Should Attend?
The Walk to Emmaus is intended for active Christians who:
Desire to grow in their relationship with Christ
Want to deepen their commitment to discipleship
Seek meaningful Christian fellowship
Are involved in or committed to a local church
Emmaus is not an evangelistic event or a counseling retreat. Rather, it builds upon an existing foundation of faith and encourages participants to mature as disciples of Jesus Christ.
